Zusammenfassung:Complex cobalto-borate esters are prepd. from 6+0.5% mono-cobalt-borate ester, 2.5+0.5% di:cobalto-borate ester, 30+2% tri:cobalto-borate ester, 5+0.5% tri-n-butyl-ortho-borate, 30+2% n-butyl-alkyl-carboxylate, 25+2% cobalt di:carboxylate. Component wt. ratios fall between following limits: monoester;diester:triester= 10:5:85-20:0:80. In a preliminary prepn. stage cobalt-dicarboxylate is obtd. by ion exchange reaction between sodium salts of previously mentioned mono-carboxylic acids and cobalt chloride or nitrate, observing well established reaction conditions During the next phase, molten cobalt-di:carboxylate is transesterified with tri:n-butyl-borate at 150-180 deg.C with formation of a complex ester mixt.
