The mechanical reinforcement agent consists of particles of silicon carbide (SiC) without residual carbon. The effectiveness of the reinforcing action of manufactured SiC particles was assessed and verified in the present invention, adding amounts of between 0 and 8% by volume, replacing equivalent volumetric fractions of fine sand in conventional hydraulic cement (Portland) mortar mixes.
