Zusammenfassung:Alkali(ne earth) metal peroxides are prepd. by reaction of alkali(ne earth) metal oxides or hydroxides with H2O2 by mixing an aq. suspension of the (hydr)oxide with an aq. soln. of H2O2, opt. with cooling, allowing the product to ripen opt. with further cooling, with stirring, until the reaction is complete. The substance is then spray dried. The reaction is effected at higher concn. than in prior art, and the removal of water by spray drying does not utilise so much energy.
