Zusammenfassung:The present invention discloses a method of extracting and isolating betulinic acid and dimethyl cardamonin from Syzygium campanulatum Korth (Myrtaceae) plant, which includes: collecting plant?s tissue; extracting samples containing betulinic acid and dimethyl cardamonin (chalcone) from the collected plant tissues by Soxhlet extraction with n-hexane:methanol solvent mixture, wherein the solvent mixture is based on ratio 60:40; filtering and evaporating extracted samples containing betulinic acid and dimethyl cardamonin (chalcone) by using a rotary evaporator, wherein the rotary evaporator?s temperature is set at 40?C; analyzing purity of betulinic acid and dimethyl cardamonin from the filtered and evaporated samples by using HPLC; standardizing betulinic acid and dimethyl cardamonin using HPLC grade betulinic acid and purified crystals of dimethyl cardamonin; and extracting concentrated isolated betulinic acid and dimethyl cardamonin by using a supercritical fluid extraction on the sample having maximum concentration of betulinic acid and dimethyl cardamonin using a solvent that includes methanol, acetone and ethanol.
