Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a method of preparing a varnish of a printing ink, wherein refined crude palm oil is transesterified to give palm olein, to the palm olein the following are added: a rosin-modified phenolic resin, palm oil, Al-chelate and optionally further auxiliary components, and the mixture is heated to at least 150 °C;wherein 10-50% (w/w) of resin heated to at least 150 °C is added to palm oil, then palm oilein is added and the mixture is gelled by adding Al-chelate. The printing ink is then prepared by adding a pigment and optionally further auxiliary substances to the varnish.
