The slurry on the facing material is shaped into a panel and maintained under conditions sufficient for the calcined gypsum to react with the water to form a core comprising an interlocking matrix of set gypsum crystals. Heating of the panel causes evaporation of the water that did riot react with the calcined gypsum. La presente invencion proporciona un panel de yeso resistente al moho que incluye un nucleo de una matriz interconectada de cristales de dihidrato de sulfato de calcio, un material de cubierta en al menos un lado del panel y una sal de piritione dispersa tanto en el nucleo como el material de cubierta. Otro aspecto de la presente invencion es un metodo para hacer un producto de yeso resistente al moho.
