El concepto inventivo descrito proporciona un arreglo de enganche de remolque para su uso con una barra de arrastre que se adapta de forma universal al uso de un perno de enganche convencional de alta resistencia. Particularmente, se ajusta un manguito reductor para pernos en el orificio para pernos de enganche de la barra de arrastre. El diámetro interno del manguito reductor para pernos es menor que el orificio para perno de enganche formado de forma convencional en la barra de arrastre, mientras que el diámetro interno del manguito reductor para pernos es igual que el del receptor. Cuando se ajusta la barra de arrastre en el receptor, el manguito reductor para pernos se retiene en este, mediante lo cual se evita el movimiento lateral con relación a la barra de arrastre. El concepto inventivo descrito permite que los propietarios de vehículos que tengan un enganche de remolque con receptor de 7.62 cm (3´´) estándar que incluye convencionalmente un orificio para pernos de enganche de 1.58 cm (5/8´´) puedan manejar de forma efectiva y segura una calificación de remolque mayor que 9071.84 cm (20 000 libras) mediante la inserción del manguito para pernos de enganche en el orificio para pernos de enganche de 1.9 cm (3/4´´) proporcionado en la barra de arrastre.
