La presente invención se relaciona con un medio de unión (20) para montar una cabeza transversal (10) que tiene una pared frontal vertical (11) y una pared trasera vertical (12) espaciadas aparte por al menos una pared transversal (13) en una estructura de vehículo, teniendo tal medio de unión un primer extremo (22) que se fijará a tal estructura de vehículo y un segundo extremo (23) diseñado para unirse a la traviesa de cabeza transversal, siendo el medio de unión de un perfil de sección hueca (21), la periferia del cual comprende paredes laterales opuestas (24 y 25) y paredes exteriores opuestas sustancialmente paralelas (26 y 27), caracterizadas porque el segundo extremo (23) comprende por lo menos una saliente (14) que se puede extender sustancialmente más allá de la pared frontal vertical (11) después de montar la traviesa de cabeza transversal (10), y en la que un componente (50) se une a la saliente (14) en frente de tal pared frontal vertical (11). La invención es útil en particular para montar partes adicionales en la pared frontal de la cabeza transversal, sin afectar las propiedades de la cabeza transversal y deteriorar las propiedades de intrusión de fuerza.
