description The present disclosure is related to bioactive recombinant glycoproteins produced by genetic modification of TÚpari bean plants (Phaseolus acutifolius). These glycoproteins are obtained through a strategy that allows the preservation of species-specific glycosylations that the Phaseolus acutifolius confers on its lectins. The above allows avoiding the drawbacks of the heterologous production of recombinant lectins in simpler organisms, which mainly results in the loss of biological activity. The proposed strategy enables the secretion of the product through radicular exudates to a hydroponic medium and the addition of hexahistidine tail allows the recovery of the bioactive lectin.
