Said process represents a significant advance in the establishment of a new approach for the aquaculture of such an important species whose populations are declining. La presente invención está relacionada con en el campo de la acuacultura de gasterópodos y el uso del dinoflagelado Symbiodinium en las etapas tempranas del gasterópodo Lobatus (=Strombus) gigas. para aumentar la sobrevivencia de las etapas tempranas del ciclo de vida del caracol rosado para su explotación y conservación. Se describe una tecnología integral para incrementar la producción por cultivo de dicha especie de molusco con tasas de crecimiento mayores a 25 5 n de las larvas y porcentajes de sobrevivencia de juveniles superior al 89%.
