The light-emitting system (30) further includes at least one lens (46) and a plurality of lighting elements (44) coupled to the annular housing (40) which are configured to selectively generate a halo (H) or at least a partial halo of light that radiates outwardly away from the annular housing (40) through the at least one lens (46) to provide enhanced personal illumination.
