This low amount of water causes two liquid phases to form and prevents unwanted side reactions. The denser liquid phase contains DMAEA-MCQ and the lighter phase containse the starting materials. Liquid from the denser phase is removed from a position where little of the lighter phase has been mixed in. The removed liquid then has any last traces of the starting materials reacted into DMAEA-MCQ and stips away any starting materials with a gas flow. The resulting liquid is high purity DMAEA-MCQ. Water can then safely be added to ease in the transport and use of the produced DMAEA-MCQ. El método implica colocar materiales de partida en un reactor de tanque agitado continuamente, en presencia de menos de 6% en agua. Esta baja cantidad de agua provoca dos fases líquidas para formar y prevenir reacciones secundarias no deseadas. La fase líquida mas densa contiene DMAEA.MCQ y la fase mas ligera contiene los materiales de partida. El líquido de la fase más densa es removido de una posición en donde un poco de la fase más ligera ha sido mezclada. El líquido removido, entonces tiene trazas últimas de los materiales de partida que reaccionaron en DMAEA MCQ y remover cualquier materiales de inicio con un flujo de gas.
