La presente invención se refiere a un concentrador solar de espejos planos segmentados con sistema de seguimiento que se comprende básicamente de un mástil de sustentación, con las articulaciones adecuadas (rotulas de giro) para acimut y altitud solar, un serpentín de cobre con la tubería de entrada y salida de aceite frío y caliente respectivamente, y una estructura de soporte elaborada de un material ligero capaz de soportar una superficie reflejante de 6.1 a 7.0 m2. El concentrador comprende además un primer ojo electrónico dispuesto en el extremo posterior izquierdo de la parte media de la estructura de soporte, y en segundo ojo electrónico dispuesto también sobre la estructura de soporte en su extremo posterior derecho, de tal suerte que entre dichos primero y segundo ojos electrónicos que siguen la posición del sol, la estructura soporta además un módulo solar fotovoltaico, que cumplen la función de alimentar de energía a un primer motor que define el primer grado de libertad del concentrador para altitud solar y a un segundo motor que define el segundo grado de libertad del concentrador para acimut solar.
