Zusammenfassung:	Austenitic stainless steel is covered on a portion of its surface with a dissimilar stainless steel which is less noble than the austenitic steel in a corrosive environment, the steels being in electrical contact. Stress corrosion cracking reduced, esp. in chloride-, sulphide-, or caustic environments. The austenitic steel is typically AlSl Type 304 and the dissimilar steel is Type 409 or 439 which may cover separate portions of the steel. It may be attached by welding, pressure bonding or spraying.
