The invention also provides a production method for the aqueous dispersion composition. The production method is for producing an aqueous dispersion composition of a copolymer comprising an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or an ester thereof as a constituent unit, the method comprising (1) mixing a copolymer comprising an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or an ester thereof as a constituent unit, a basic substance, and water such that the concentration of the copolymer is 40 to 62 mass%, and that the copolymer is neutralized to a degree of neutralization of 10 to 35%, (2) applying a pressure of 0.1 to 2 MPa to the obtained mixture, and (3) further adding water after the pressure application to adjust the concentration of the copolymer to 30 to 60 mass%. |
