The method for synthesizing calcium carbonate by using a by-product comprises: a storing step of storing the by-product produced in the power generating facility or the steelmaking facility; an extracting step of maintaining acidity of the stored by-product and extracting calcium ions included in the by-product; a synthesizing step of synthesizing calcium carbonate by responding the calcium ions to carbon dioxide included in exhaust gas; and a separating step of separating a product and a liquid generated in the synthesizing step. The present invention responds the carbon dioxide to the calcium ions by reusing the by-product generated in the power generating facility or the steelmaking facility in a combustion exhaust gas desulfurizing process, and thus converts and collects the same into the calcium carbonate or calcium hydrogen carbonate, thereby permanently storing the carbon dioxide which is green-house gas in concrete and reducing environmental pollution due to the carbon dioxide by using the collected product as concrete aid. 본 발명은 연소시설에서 배출되는 황산화물을 처리하는 탈황공정이 있는 발전시설이나 제철시설에서 생산되는 부산물을 이용하여 탄산칼슘을 합성하는 부산물을 이용한 탄산칼슘의 합성방법 및 합성장치에 관한 것으로서, 발전시설이나 제철시설에서 생산되는 부산물을 저장하는 저장단계와, 저장된 부산물을 산성으로 유지하면서 부산물에 포함된 칼슘이온을 추출하는 추출단계와, 배가스에 포함된 이산화탄소와 반응시켜 탄산칼슘을 합성하는 합성단계와, 이 합성단계에서 생성된 생성물과 액체를 분리하는 분리단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 따라서 본 발명은 연소 배가스 탈황 공정에서 제철소나 발전소에서 발생하는 부산물을 재활용하여 이산화탄소를 칼슘이온과 반응시켜 탄산칼슘 또는 탄산수소칼슘으로 변환하여 포집함으로써, 포집 회수된 생성물을 콘크리트 보조제로 활용하여 온실가스인 이산화탄소를 콘크리트에 영구적으로 보관하는 동시에 이산화탄소에 의한 환경오염을 저감할 수 있는 효과를 제공한다.
