description The present invention relates to a signal processing device and an image display device having the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the signal processing device comprises: an HDR processing unit receiving an image signal and adjusting brightness of the inputted image signal; and a reduction unit amplifying the brightness of the image signal from the HDR processing unit, increasing gradation resolution of the image signal, and generating an enhanced image signal. The enhanced image signal provides the increased brightness and gradation resolution of the image signal during maintaining a high-dynamic range in a displayed HDR image.
