According to the present invention, an ESR control apparatus comprises: a data collection unit sampling sensors including a voltmeter to measure the voltage supplied to an electro-slag remelting furnace (ESRF), an ammeter to measure the current flowing in the ESRF, a first load cell to measure the weight of an electrode, and a second load cell to measure the weight of a steel ingot by a first cycle to collect data; a management unit to estimate a melting rate of the electrode based on the data collected in the data collection unit; a control unit to control the magnitude of the voltage supplied to the ESRF based on a preset target melting rate and the melting rate of the electrode estimated in the management unit; and a monitoring unit to display the data collected in the data collection unit, the melting rate estimated in the management unit, and magnitude information of the voltage controlled by the control unit on a screen, and to generate an alarm when a preset alarm condition is satisfied. Accordingly, the electrode is able to be melted as possible, thereby providing an effect of maximizing working efficiency.
