The purpose of the present invention is to provide a secondary battery which reduces an area where currents do not flow in the electrode assembly and enables a high rate discharge. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 이차전지는 제1 전극, 제2 전극 및 상기 제1 전극과 상기 제2 전극 사이에 개재된 세퍼레이터를 포함하는 전극조립체, 상기 제1 전극으로부터 돌출되는 제1 무지탭과 상기 제2 전극으로부터 돌출되는 제2 무지탭 및 상기 전극조립체를 수용하고, 제1 접합부 및 제2 접합부가 상하로 형성된 파우치 케이스를 포함하되, 상기 제1 무지탭은 상기 제1 접합부 방향으로 돌출되고, 상기 제2 무지탭은 상기 제2 접합부 방향으로 돌출되며, 상기 제1 무지탭과 상기 제2 무지탭은 상호 탭간거리로 이격되고, 상기 제1 무지탭은 상기 전극조립체의 일측면에서 제1 이격거리로 이격될 수 있다.
