In addition, since a polymer elastomer with elasticity is used as the outer shell, the structure of the capsule and alignment of the liquid crystal in the capsule can be maintained even after strong mechanical deformation since the capsule has sufficient mechanical reconfigurability. 본 발명은 액정 물질을 포함하는 코어(Core); 상기 코어를 둘러싸고 액정 배향 물질을 포함하는 내부 쉘(inner shell); 및 상기 내부 쉘을 둘러싸고 고분자 물질을 포함하는 외부 쉘(outer shell);을 포함하는 액정 캡슐을 제공한다. 본 발명에 따른 액정 캡슐은 캡슐 내부에 액정 배향 물질로 이루어진 내부 쉘을 포함함으로써 캡슐 내에서 액정의 분자 배향이 완벽하게 이루어져 고유한 광학 특성을 정확하게 발현할 수 있다. 또한, 외부 쉘로 탄성을 가지는 고분자 탄성체를 사용함으로써 충분한 기계적 회복성(reconfigurability)을 가지고 있기 때문에 강한 기계적 변형 이후에도 캡슐의 구조 및 캡슐 내부의 액정 분자 배향이 그대로 유지될 수 있다.
