CONTROL APPARATUS OF ELECTRIC STABILITY CONTROL APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

Disclosed are a control apparatus of an electric stability control (ESC) apparatus and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the control apparatus of an ESC apparatus comprises: an estimating unit to estimate the current status of a gradient based on the current value of a wheel speed and the current value of longitudinal acceleration detected by a detecting unit; a determining unit to determine if the current status of a gradient is unstable or not; a filter unit to, when the current status of a gradient is unstable, filter out by changing the value of a cutoff frequency in accordance with the estimated current status of a gradient; and a control unit to receive an input of the value of a wheel speed and the value of longitudinal acceleration detected by the detecting unit, to transfer an estimation command to the estimating unit, to transfer a determination command to the determining unit, to transfer a filtering command to the filter unit, and to control the operation of the ESC apparatus in accordance with the unstable status of a gradient based on the changed value of a cutoff frequency which is filtered. The present invention aims to improve durability in controlling the position of a vehicle, to efficiently maintain the ride quality, to suppress instability about the current status of a gradient, and to guide a driver to carefully drive the vehicle.
