description The present invention relates to a visitor counting system using local area wireless communication and a method thereof. A wireless signal receiver detects wireless signals of user terminals entering into or exiting from a visit region and transmits user terminal related information related to the detected user terminals to a counting server. The counting server analyzes the user terminal related information to count the number of the user terminals entering into or exiting from the visit region as the number of visitors.
