Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a dehumidifier and a method to control the same. According to the present invention, the dehumidifier comprises: a main body; a compressor located inside the main body to press a refrigerant; a fan motor to drive a fan to guide air inside the main body outside; an inverter connected with the compressor to control a number of revolutions of the compressor under control of a controlling part; and the controlling part to control the number of revolutions of the compressor and the number of revolutions of the fan motor by each operation mode. The controlling part is capable of controlling the number of revolutions of the compressor through the inverter. The present invention has an effect of improving performance in accordance to a conversion of the operation mode by applying an inverter function to a compressor when a dehumidifier is operated.
