description An algorithm of the present invention enables practical protocol and transmission technique design for maximizing transmission rate of an extended S&S network by researching an S&S network model which is extended from an ad-hoc network and coupled to a backbone network, and comparing the researched S&S network model with asymptotic performance results of point to point communications in a conventional hybrid wireless network. Moreover, the algorithm further enables efficient management of wireless resources and design of an MAC protocol and routing with lower complexity as compared with a case that only an ad-hoc network was used. Specifically, the algorithm compares how an S&S transmission capacity result changes according to a demanded service quality by considering a machine to machine communications which requires a service quality such as different delay time or a minimum message transmission success rate, and satisfies a maximum S&S transmission rate based on parameter optimization and a cross-layer cooperative method when the service quality exists.
