Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a communication method thereof are provided to minimize data transmission amount to a base station of a cellular network and to effectively use a wireless local area network (LAN) base station of which cost is cheap and transmission speed is fast. CONSTITUTION: A second communication module (162) performs communications using a second communication method of which usage cost is lower than a first communication method. A demand bandwidth prediction amount calculation unit (141) calculates a demand bandwidth prediction amount based on a data usage pattern of a mobile terminal. A usage data prediction amount calculation unit (142) calculates usage data prediction amount of the first communication method based on the mobile speed information and mobile pattern information of the mobile terminal. A communication method determining unit (150) selects either the first communication method or the second communication method by comparing the demand bandwidth prediction amount with the usage data prediction amount.
