Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A solid oxide fuel cell system and an operating method thereof are provided to exclude some unit cells when defects occur in the unit cells and to prevent the deterioration of generation efficiency in stacks or the whole system. CONSTITUTION: A solid oxide fuel cell system comprises multiple stacks (1) which are serially connected to each other, one or more switches which connect two or more adjacent stacks and selectively short-circuit the stacks, a voltage detection module (3) for detecting the voltage of the stacks, a switch controller module (2) which selectively operates the switch, and a system control unit (4) which selectively short-circuits the switch by electrically connecting a voltage detection module to a switch control module and comparing the reference voltage value of the stacks with a reference voltage value.
