The wireless collector comprises the data concentration device and a wireless mesh network. The wireless collector comprises a low rank wireless mesh network with the wireless communication modems mounted on the watt-hour meter of a nearby consumer. The wireless communications modem collects and stores the metered data by periodically communicating with the watt-hour meter of the corresponding consumer. The wireless communications modem transmits the stored metered data to the data concentration device through the wireless collector. |
