Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A backlight unit, a liquid crystal display device using the same and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent initial driving error when a light source is driven in a dark state. CONSTITUTION: An inverter controller generates a pulse width modulating signal corresponding to a diming control signal which is inputted from a controller. An inverter generates an AC driving signal in response to the pulse width modulating signal. An optical unit increases each photonic efficiency. A back light is generated according to the AC driving signal inputted from inverter. A sub driving unit drives the light to the backlight light source according to the driving signal which is inputted from a controller.
