AIR SUPPLY DISTRIBUTOR FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The invention relates to an air distributor (10) comprising a cylindrical tubular body (24) which is provided with connecting channels (45, 46, 65, 66) for supplying the cylinders (15, 16, 17, 18) of an internal combustion engine, the branches (37 to 44) of which open in an aligned manner along a ge...

Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to an air distributor (10) comprising a cylindrical tubular body (24) which is provided with connecting channels (45, 46, 65, 66) for supplying the cylinders (15, 16, 17, 18) of an internal combustion engine, the branches (37 to 44) of which open in an aligned manner along a generatrix (GA) of the tubular body. The tubular body (24) extends upstream into the branches of a 180 ° elbow (30) which opens at an air inlet (32), said elbow (30) being inclined at an angle a in relation to the diametral plane of the tubular body (24) containing generatrix GA. The inventive distributor comprises a recess (70) which is provided in the tubular body (24) opposite the branches (37 to 40) of the first and second distributed cylinders (15, 16). The aforementioned recess (70) has a converging/diverging profile (71, 73) around the lowest area (72) which is disposed between the branches (38 and 39) and said recess can use the Venturi effect in order to reduce the drop in swirl in the second distributed cylinder (16) induced by the architecture of the inclined elbow distributor, by regulating the airflows in the channels (65 and 66). The distributor (10) is mounted to the intake face (12) of the cylinder head (14) of a diesel engine with two intake ducts (67, 68) per cylinder (16). |
