description There are provided a recording device and method, a reproduction device and method, and program capable of imaging a recording a still image and a moving picture before and after the still image. When a still image imaging with moving picture mode is set in step S1, temporary storage of the moving picture is started. When a shutter is pressed in step S2, the still image acquired is recorded in step S3. Simultaneously with this, one moving picture is generated from the moving picture before the still image stored in step S1, the moving picture into which the still image acquired is converted, and the moving picture acquired after the shutter is pressed. Thus, it is possible to record a highly accurate still image together with the moving pictures before and after the still image.
