THE DEVICE FOR CHANGING CHANNELS BY FAVORITE CHANNEL AND DENIAL SCREEN AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

An apparatus of changing channels by setting favorite channels and denial images and a method of controlling the apparatus are provided to analyze user's habit of watching broadcasting programs and automatically set a user's favorite channel even when the user does not personally input a favorite channel number. An apparatus(201) of changing channels includes a timer(206), a storage unit(207), a processor(205), and a controller(203). The timer counts a channel tuning time for each channel. The storage unit stores a tuning time, a channel number of each channel and tuned time zones. The processor sequentially determines channel numbers in the order of a tuning time for each tuned time zone. When a signal for inputting a favorite channel is applied to the apparatus, the controller tunes a channel corresponding to a channel number having the longest tuning time in the time zone in which the signal is applied.
