The multi input/output channel modulation system or transmission diversity system perform a frequency offset estimation process by using a predetermined mathematical expression. 본 발명은 무선 이동 디지털 통신 시스템에서의 주파수 오프셋의 추정 방법으로서, (a) 각 부 채널에서 주파수 오프셋을 독립적으로 추정하는 단계와, (b) 각 주파수 오프셋의 추정 값을 다이버시티 결합하는 단계를 포함한다. 상기 추정 방법은 다중 입출력 채널 변조 시스템, 전송 다이버시티 시스템, 다중 부호 분할 다중 접속 시스템 또는 이진 부호 분할 다중 접속 시스템 등을 포함하는 다중 채널 시스템에 적용 가능하다. 본 발명에 의하면 다이버시티 이득을 얻을 수 있어 주파수 추정의 정확도를 현저히 개선할 수 있고, 이에 따라 다중 채널 시스템들의 스펙트럼 효율도 증가시킬 수 있다.
