description PURPOSE: A process of preparing tea granules by extracting Aralia elata Seem. with an additive selected from an extract of tangerine, Schizandra chinensis Baillon, Acanthopanacis Cortex Radicis, cactus fruit, Japanese apricot, grape, apple and pear is provided. Whereby, the tea granules have both pharmacological efficacy and palatability. CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 90 to 97% by weight of Aralia elata Seem. and 3 to 10% by weight of Glycyrrhizae Radix or stevia is pretreated, extracted 10 to 50 times with 30 to 70% ethanol at 80 to 100deg.C for 3 to 7hrs in the first stage and 10 to 30 times with 30 to 70% ethanol at 80 to 100deg.C for 2 to 5hrs in the second stage. The extract is then concentrated to a solid content of 40 to 70%. Thereafter, 75% by weight of an excipient and 1 to 5% by weight of an additive are added to 5 to 20% by weight of the concentrate and formed into granules.
