Ammonia shows the weak alkalinity by melting in water. The phenolphthalein solution in the detecting container is changed to red by reacting the leaked ammonia gas with the gauge. The ammonia gas leakage detector is operated by a detecting sensor when the phenolphthalein solution is changed over pH 7.1 by the leaked ammonia gas.
