METHOD OF RECORDING PROGRAM

PURPOSE: A method of recording a program is to display the content of EPG(electric program guide) information in OSD(on screen display) when reserving/recording the program of a digital TV, and then recording the program using an indexing function. CONSTITUTION: A program to be recorded referring to EPG information is firstly reserved. A program recording operation is informed to a user before performing the recording operation. Desired information of the program is displayed before the recording operation and then the information for a desired time is recorded. Therefore, the program is recorded. In the method, the informing the program recording operation is provided in the form of a video signal to be displayed on a screen or an audio signal. The desired information of the program is displayed on an image to be displayed on the screen. In a recording apparatus, a tuner(10) tunes a broadcasting signal. A storing portion(11) stores the tuned broadcasting signal including EPG(electric program guide) information and control information. A timer(12) is used when recording the broadcasting signal and the EPG information. And a controlling portion(13) controls the timer and the storing portion.
