PURPOSE: An electronic system for a kitchen is to allow a person to operate an appliance and a communication apparatus during cooking a food in a kitchen. CONSTITUTION: An electronic system for a kitchen comprises a first selecting portion(22) for selecting a function out of AM radio broadcasting, FM radio broadcasting and TV broadcasting, a second selecting portion(23) for selecting a communication with a person by a telephone, or with a person at an entrance door and a guarder by an interphone, a displaying portion(26) for displaying a function selected by the first or second selecting portion on a screen, a controlling portion(21) for automatically switching from a function of the first selecting portion to a function of the second selecting portion. The system further comprises a recording/reproducing apparatus(27) for recording/reproducing the communication when the second selecting portion is operated. The displaying portion comprises of a displaying part for displaying the kind of the selecting portion, and an LCD monitor(2).
