According to the present invention, provided are the object tracking device for tracking the moving object from the video with the same background between the frames and the operation method thereof, wherein when a user area, which indicates that the object is to be tracked in a first frame, is specified by a user, after replacing a part corresponding to a second frame with the user area displayed in the first frame, a process of detecting the object in the second frame through an exclusive OR operation with the first frame is repeated in the next frame, and thus it is possible to support tracking of a specific object from each of a plurality of frames constituting the video. 프레임 간에 동일한 배경을 갖는 동영상으로부터 움직이는 객체를 추적하기 위한 객체 추적 장치 및 그 동작 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명에 따른 프레임 간에 동일한 배경을 갖는 동영상으로부터 움직이는 객체를 추적하기 위한 객체 추적 장치 및 그 동작 방법은 사용자에 의해 첫 번째 프레임에서 객체 추적 대상임을 지시하는 사용자 영역이 지정되면, 두 번째 프레임에서 대응되는 부분을 상기 첫 번째 프레임에 표시된 상기 사용자 영역으로 치환한 후, 상기 첫 번째 프레임과의 배타적 논리합 연산을 통해, 상기 두 번째 프레임에서 객체를 검출하는 과정을 다음 프레임에 반복적으로 수행함으로써, 동영상을 구성하는 복수의 프레임 각각으로부터 특정 객체의 추적이 가능하도록 지원할 수 있다.
