APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING LOCATION INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SERVICE

An apparatus and a method for providing a location history management service are provided to enable a mobile communication service user to utilize user's location information, supply an entertainment function by sharing user's location history information with the other user, and offer a personal location history map service. A location request signal transmitter(210) transmits a location request signal of a mobile terminal. A location log information receiver(220) receives location log information of the mobile terminal in response to the location request signal. An MMS(Multimedia Message Service) receiver(230) receives a multimedia message including location description information from the mobile terminal. A location description information extractor(240) extracts the location description information from the received multimedia message. A database(270) stores the location log information, the location description information and map information. A location history information provider(250) provides location history information including the location log information, the location description information and the map information corresponding to the location log information stored in the database.
