APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING BLUETOOTH FUNCTION IN MOBILE TERMINAL

An apparatus for performing a Bluetooth function in a mobile communication terminal and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to know an available Bluetooth device for performing a corresponding application by selecting a Bluetooth device, supporting the corresponding application, among surrounding Bluetooth devices if the application is activated. An apparatus for performing a Bluetooth function in a mobile communication terminal comprises a Bluetooth module(212), a controller(210), and a display unit(214). The Bluetooth module(212) searches for a Bluetooth device among surrounding Bluetooth devices according to predetermined control, and transmits or receives data to or from the Bluetooth device selected by a user. The controller(210) controls a search operation for a Bluetooth device if a user requests a Bluetooth function while an application is activated, selects a Bluetooth device, which can support the application, among the searched Bluetooth devices, and controls execution of the application by using the Bluetooth device, selected by the user, among the selected Bluetooth devices. The display unit(214) displays the Bluetooth device, which can support the application, among the searched Bluetooth devices.
