CONSTITUTION: A multimedia signal processor(100) includes a common type processor(110) connected with a vector processor(120). The common type processor(110) and the vector processor(120) are connected by a bus(112) and are connected with a cache system(130) through a bus(116) and a bus(118) and execute a separation program thread in parallel. The common type processor(110) executes a command for processing a scalar data, and the vector processor(120) executes an operand including same type multi-data elements. The common type processor(110) operates a real time operation system designed for a media circuit board communicating with a main computer system and is a 32-bit RISC processor which operates at 40MHz. The vector processor(120) is a digital signal processing engine of a multimedia signal processor and includes a single-command-multiple-data(SIMD) structure and processes both scalar and vector data.
