APPARATUS FOR PURIFYING INDOOR ATMOSPHERE

PURPOSE:To efficiently remove an org. solvent or malodorous component volatilized into an indoor atmosphere, by providing a wet treatment part for bringing an atmosphere to be treated into contact with an aqueous cyclodextrin solution. CONSTITUTION:A wet treatment part A for bringing an atmosphere (g) to be treated into contact with an aqueous cyclodextrin solution (a) is provided. As the aqueous cyclodextrin solution (a), an aqueous solution of alpha-cyclodextrin, beta-cyclodextrin, gamma-cyclodextrin or a mixture thereof is used. The concn. of cyclodextrin in the aqueous solution is pref. as high as possible and usually set to a range from 1wt.% to a saturation point. A receiving chamber 1 receiving the aqueous cyclodextrin solution (a) and an air diffusing pipe for bubbling the cyclodextrin solution (a) in the receiving chamber 1 with the atmosphere to be treated are mounted. An air feed pump not shown in a drawing is provided on the upstream side of the air diffusing pipe 7 of an offensive smell source generating part C and a gas sampling part not shown in the drawing is provided on the downstream side of the lead-out pipe 5 of the wet treatment part A.
