BALL FOR BALLING

PURPOSE: To provide a ball for bowling which is excellent in shock-resistance, wear-resistance, oil resistance, heat resistance and impact resilience by providing on the surface a polyurethane layer to which whiskers are mixed. CONSTITUTION: A ball for bowling includes both a ball formed by a molding of a polyurethane resin single material to which whiskers are mixed, and a ball formed by a multilayer molding having a surface covering layer of polyurethane to which whiskers are mixed. The quantity of whiskers added is 3-20 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. polyol component for forming the polyurethane resin. The whisker is, for example, ultra fine powder with a diameter of 1-2μm, ultra short fibers with a length of 1-100μm, a diameter of 0.01-0.5μm, and the aspect ratio of 10-300, preferably 10-100, ultra fine plate-like material with a thickness of 0.01-1.0μm and with a diameter of 1-2μm, or ultra fine material similar to the above. Whisker is finely filled and cross-linked in a space in a cross-linkage structure of polyurethane resin, thereby improving impact resilience, shock- resistance, wear-resistance oil resistance and heat resistance.
