description PURPOSE: To attempt a smooth operation of a pump stroke control by providing another control plane in a pump case part, in face to face with one control plane relating to an oil pump for a chain saw in which the pump stroke is regulated with the control pin in contact with the control plane of a pump piston. CONSTITUTION: An oil pump 6 to be applied to a chain saw is driven within a pump case 7 and is equipped with a pump piston 12 supported rotatably within the pump cylinder 8. The pump piston 12 has the first control plane 19 and its stroke is regulated by bringing the control pin into contact with the first control plane 19. In this instance, the second control plane 20 is formed in the bearing band 15 supported rotatably within the bearing orifice 16 of the pump case 7, in face to face with the first control plane 19. Thus, the stroke of the pump piston 12 which operates uniformly without a spring force and is hard to be worn out, can be obtained and the axial bearing of the pump piston 12 can be secured.
