CONSTITUTION:The magnetic layer essentially consisting of the ferromagnetic powder and binder is formed on a nonmagnetic base. The magnetic layer contains the phenoxy resin contg. the electron rays sensitive double bonds in the molecule and metal base of the carboxylic acid as the binder. The phenoxy resin has high coated film strength and is produced from; for example, bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin. Such resin exhibits high affinity to the magnetic powder and has good dispersibility even with the ultrafinely pulverized magnetic powder or the magnetic powder having a large quantity of magnetization. The durability and surface characteristic of the resulted magnetic recording medium are, therefore, improved and the recording medium having the extremely good electromagnetic conversion characteristic is obtd.
