description PURPOSE:To easily produce granular slaked lime suitable as pH-conditioner for soil, etc., without using a binder at a low cost, by adding an acidic or basic aqueous solution having an arbitrary pH to a system for the synthesis of slaked lime from quick lime and granulating the synthesized slaked lime. CONSTITUTION:Quick lime is charged into a rotary pan of a rolling granular and sprayed with a prescribed amount of an acidic aqueous solution (e.g. aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid) or a basic aqueous solution (e.g. ammonia water) to obtain slaked lime having prescribed pH. The rotary pan is rotated and the quick lime is made to react with the aqueous solution simultaneous to the granulation of the reaction product to obtain the objective granular slaked lime. The amount of the aqueous solution to be added to the quick lime is about 1mol. or more based on 1mol. of the quick lime. The particle diameter of the granular slaked lime can be controlled by controlling the rotary angle and rotary speed of the rotary pan of the rolling granulator. An extrusion granulator or fluidized bed granulator, etc., may be used in place of the rolling granulator.
