The cell strain is cloned to obtain a clone strain having high productivity of human IL-3. The human IL-3-producing cell, its clone or subclone is cultured and the produced human IL-3 having mast cell proliferation activity is collected. The obtained human IL-3 is active to induce the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic system in general, such as pluripotent stem cell and is useful for the remedy of a plastic anemia, etc., and the proliferation of marrow cell in marrow transplantation, etc.
