SPACER WITH INCORPORATED LEVEL SENSOR FOR FLAT PLATE GEL FORMATION

PURPOSE:To obtain a spacer capable of measuring and controlling the size and concentration slope of flat plate gel at the time of the manufacture of the flat plate gel by providing a nearly U-shaped insulating plate, an array of plural electrode couples, and a detector. CONSTITUTION:The spacer consists principally of the nearly U-shaped insulating plate 2, the array 3 of many electrode couples 31 arranged at equal intervals, a connector 4 which concentrates respective circuits from the respective electrode couples 31, the detector 5 which is connected to the connector 4 and detects the continuity of each electrode couple 31, and a rubber packing 6 for liquid leak prevention. Then as a gel solution of prescribed concentration is injected into a liquid storage space for flat plate gel manufacture constituted by using the spacer 1 from its bottom part, the rising liquid surface of the gel solution contacts prescribed electrodes at prescribed height to make them conductive, thereby detecting the liquid surface position.
