METHOD FOR PRESSING DOWN AND COMPRESSING MATERIAL BY HIGH-TEMPERATURE FLUID

PURPOSE:To prevent contact of a punch with fluid and to eliminate the need for sealing by interposing a granular material layer between the punch and the fluid at the time of charging a compressing material into a container for pressing in which the punch slides and compressing said material by the fluid as a pressure medium. CONSTITUTION:The compressing material 3 and high temp. fluid 4 of required temps. are charged into the container for pressing having an open hole of a cylinder part in which the punch 2 for pressing slides in an upper part. For example, stainless steel powder which is packed into a capsule or stainless steel powder which is subjected to compression molding is used as the compressing material. The part 5 of the high-temp. fluid 4 is quickly cooled to a solid state right after charging of the granular material 6 to prevent rising of the high-temp. fluid 4 at the time of pressing. The direct contact of the punch with the high-temp. fluid 4 is, therefore, prevented at least in the initial period of pressing and a sliding part 1-4 does not require the sealing mechanism or is simple in construction.
