Said diglycidyl ether compound (a) comprises a compound of formula I, which may be used in combination with the compound of formula II. When the compound of formula II is used, it is preferable that compound (a) contains at least 10wt% compound of formula I. In the formulas, X is a halogen, p and q are each 0-2, R1 is a 1-4C alkylidene or the like, m and n are each 1-5, r and s are each 0-2, and R3 is a 1-4C alkylidene or the like.
