description PURPOSE:To produce a pulse gear having no burrs in a tooth profile part by mounting a pulse gear molding into a cavity formed of receiving dies respectively provided on a tooth side and tooth rear side, and pressurizing the same with a punch from above while supporting the gear by a support. CONSTITUTION:The annular pulse gear which consists of a magnetic material and is formed with internal teeth or external teeth having a prescribed serration arrangement is produced by subjecting the pulse gear molding, at least the tooth part of which is formed of a magnetic material, to size setting with a press. The above-mentioned press molding is obtd. by subjecting a powder material of a metal, ceramics, etc. to molding then to sintering or to machining, etc., to an approximately finish molding shape. Such pulse gear molding 22 is housed into the cavity formed of a die 12 and mandrel 14 of a size setting device 10. The pulse gear molding 22 is then supported by a support 16 integral with the die 12 from below and is subjected to the size setting by pressurizing an upper punch 20 from above. The resulted pulse gear is taken out by rising a knock-out pin 18.
